We head into our February vacation on Friday, Valentine's Day.
American Literature students will continue reading The Great Gatsby. On Tuesday, while into Chapter 3, students will revisit the organizational structure of a journalistic feature story. They will read a few model articles, and write one of their own based on newsworthy events in the novel. This is a short one-page, process writing assignment.
World Literature students will continue acting out scenes in Macbeth. We will finish Act I on Monday and should be done Act III by the break. Students will be writing a short essay on Shakespeare's use of imagery in Act I.
Poetry students will be composing their ballads, revising, editing, and typing a final draft this week.
