Monday, although our first full week, will include a few interruptions to our reading and writing adventures. All English classes will include school pictures, which is likely to take up either the beginning 15 minutes or final 15 minutes of classes on MONDAY. After picture day, I think we'll be on a roll the rest of this week.
You can expect the following:
American Lit classes will finish up their summer reading essays, peer reviewing each others, while paying close attention to the rubric and making final revisions early in the week. Students will then begin researching selected early American authors and preparing for an oral presentation accompanied by a shared PowerPoint slide show.
Poetry class will be working on college essays and move into some more poetry analysis.
World Lit classes will begin to write vignettes - snapshot personal narratives, which they will take through the writing process. Final drafts will be due next Monday.
